Our mobile camp moves with us. Simple, comfortable, and built for life in the bush. Sleep under the stars in our skylight, dome-style tents, with comfy beds and hot bucket showers.

At the centre of the camp lies our mess tent, designed for comfort and relaxation. A fully stocked bar, lantern-lit dinners, and freshly cooked meals over the fire each day. Nothing excessive, just the comforts that matter, done properly.

Intimate by designed to sit naturally within the landscape around it. A camp built specifically for adventure.

our safari string

Our horses are the foundation to everything we do. We believe great horses are not forced, they are developed through patience, consistency, and trust.

Our horses are ridden barefoot and trained to be adaptable across many styles of riding. They are educated to respond softly and confidently, regardless of the style being asked of them.

The horses live the life they were bred and trained for. Long days on the trail, varied terrain, wildlife, moving every day, river crossings and the unpredictability that comes with traversing remote country. They are level-headed, sure-footed and genuinely love their life on safari.

For us, horsemanship is not a training method, it is a standard that shapes every part of Kwandala Horse Safaris.

our crew

Behind every Kwandala safari is a small but dedicated team of horsemen, guides, camp crew, and bush experts who make each journey possible. They are the hands behind the campfires, the early morning coffees, the well-cared-for horses, and the seamless experiences that allow our guests to simply ride, explore, and enjoy the wilderness. Small in number but big in character, they are an essential part of every Kwandala journey.

our tack

Our tack is kept simple, functional, and comfort is key for horse and rider. alike. All our horses are ridden in rope halters paired with a simple leather bridle and eggbutt snaffle bit, allowing riders the option to choose what they feel most comfortable with.

We ride in lightweight leather endurance saddles made by Leon Liversage, a hybrid between English and Western design offering both comfort and security for both the horse and rider over long hours. The saddles are designed with scapula clearance, spinal clearance, and even-pressure distribution in mind, ensuring our horses are happy over long distances and varied terrain.
