This is safari in its truest form. No two safaris are the same, and that’s exactly the point. There are no rehearsed itineraries and no set routes. Every safari is shaped by the landscape, the wildlife and the seasons.

What we offer

Kwandala is built around exploration. Throughout the seasons we offer a small number of set-departure exploratory rides through different regions and landscapes across Tanzania. No two safaris are ever the same. Our routes shift and our camp moves ahead daily. Exploratory rides are designed for fit, experienced riders who are comfortable with long hours in the saddle, varied terrain, and the unpredictability that comes with true expedition.

Alongside the exploratory rides, we offer bespoke tailor-made safaris built around the individual group. These operate on a flexible daily safari rate allowing us to create a more personalised structure suited to different riding abilities, age groups, interests, and rider requirements.

Whether it’s a fast-paced point-to-point expedition or a slower safari built around comfort and flexibility, every Kwandala safari is designed around brave horses, great company, wild places and incredible riding.

Exploratory safaris are set departures built around exploration. Routes change, camp moves daily, and the focus is on discovering remote areas rather than following a fixed itinerary. A true point-to-point journey.

Your journey, your way.

Tailor-made safaris offer a more flexible structure. The safari caters to private groups or families with specific interests and can be adapted to suit the need of the individual group. The riding remains adventurous, but the structure is more personalised.

the great ruaha ride

The Great Ruaha Ride is a raw journey through Tanzania’s wildest big game country. Designed for experienced riders only looking for adventure somewhere truly untouched by the outside world.
